Seasons 1-8 see shippers making bids for two shipments listed on the uShip website. This is a reverse auction type of format. Bids are accompanied by comments on possible risks and potential costs and the reasons and skills. When the time period for an auction expires the job is normally attributable to the bidder who has the lowest bid but at the discretion of the client however, it could be awarded to a higher bidder who has a greater average feedback rating from past customers. Feedback ratings can be used to break tie for the bidder with the lowest. Season 9 sees shippers receiving their cargo from a shipping agent. Bidding isn't revealed. Shippers load their cargos and try to deliver the cargo in good condition within the timeframe set by the buyer or the receiver. Client feedback scores are shown after the cargo has been delivered. Then, at the end of the episode, each shipper's revenue is displayed on screen, with the costs (fuel, labor, late-delivery penalties fines, etc.) To determine the profit or loss, the amount of bids is subtracted. Sometimes, shippers decide to transport additional loads in the same trip. This will be added to the total. In some instances, the shipper will be in a position to not complete the task due to concerns about load size/weight or road safety. One shipper might employ someone else to help on a job. Once the project is done the shippers will decide on which way to divide the profits. In the first eight seasons, the progression of each shipment is interspersed with hilarious criticisms from other shippers.
