Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay, who was born September 15, 1915, was born in Ogden Utah. Fawn MacKay who was a Mormon belonging to the Church of Latter-Day Saints' first family was able to combine her ability to write and her remarkable researching skills to create the incredible psychohistorical book The book, No Man Knows My History, which was published in 1945. Its title came from a funeral address made by Joseph Smith. In it, he claimed: "You weren't acquainted with my name and didn't have a clue about my heart. My past is not known by anybody. Nobody knows my story. Fawn published the words of 29-year old Fawn. From that point there have been at least three writers who have taken on the challenge. Some have attacked him, some have deified him; a handful have attempted at diagnosing him clinically. It's not the case that these documents lack it is rather that they're wildly contradictory. It is a daunting task to put together the documents, of separating firsthand accounts from second-hand plagiarism and fitting Mormon as well as non-Mormon stories into the kind of mosaic that can be considered to be credible historiography. This is both exciting and instructive. FawnBrodie embraced this challenge professionally. Her research as well as her writing earned her the world's attention: Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. An Personal History of Richard Nixon (1974), posthumously.
